Chef Chrissy Camba speaks with local Filipino gastronomy advocate, Natalie Roxas, Viewers are introduced to the show's host, Chef Chrissy Camba, a Filipina-American and Top Chef alum whose love of Filipino cooking was shaped by joyful moments in the kitchen with her Lola (grandmother). Her dish of choice? A savory, time-intensive, and nostalgic crab torta.

As Chrissy strolls through the aisles, an experience she describes as her version of a spa day, thanks to the soothing sounds and comforting order of the grocery store, she shares all the things that make this Filipino grocery store so special and joins a spirited group of senior citizens playing Sunday Bingo. She also speaks with local Filipino gastronomy advocate, Natalia Roxas, to reflect on the migration history and stories of Filipino communities in the U.S., enriching the episode with personal depth.

The second half of the episode moves into Chrissy’s home kitchen, where she and her husband prepare the beloved crab torta.
